LCSW Supervision

LCSW Supervision in Southern Illinois

I provide supervision for those who are looking to obtain their license to practice clinical social work (LCSW) in Illinois. Clinical supervision is of course required for licensure, and a great opportunity to more deeply understand cases, theory, and practice through interaction and consultation with colleagues. I have completed my LCSW supervision training through NASW-IL and have been practicing as a psychotherapist under  my LCSW since 2012.  Supervision is based on individual needs but usually consists of case consultation, discussion of clinical and systems topics, and/or sharing of resources.

I offer a limited number of opportunities for supervisees to work under my practice at Milwood Suites.

While working with me, clinicians can gain:
  • new ways of looking at complex cases
  • how to deal with ethical issues or dilemmas
  • a better understanding of how to navigate the system in which you work in and how to best help your clients
  • identify transference or countertransference issues
  • how to understand and apply current "trauma in the body" neurobiological research (polyvagal theory) in therapy, and what trainings are available to grow these skills
  • how social structures such as white supremacy, capitalism, Earth exploration, and partriarchy adversely impact mental and physical health, and how to address these in therapy
  • how to use your own boundary work in therapy sessions and after work to decrease secondary trauma
  • how to create a work/life balance as well as establish good self-care routines.
