Donation to Support Therapy for Folks from Marginalized Groups
|
In my practice I strive to provide a welcoming and sheltering hour where it is safe to have differences, and where every human can be who they are, can flourish, and be proud.
I acknowledge that I live and work on the rightful homelands of the Osage, Mississippian cultures, and other indigenous peoples, in what is now known by the colonizer name of St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally, Native persons here have said that this area was an active gathering and trading location, and there may be tribes who's names I am leaving out. If anyone wishes to send me information so that I may acknowledge properly, please feel free to do so. I recognize that a diversity of cultures and origins in the United States and locally strengthens us, and provides a far richer experience of life than any mono-culture ever could. This means that you are welcome exactly as you are: your race, religion or no religion, ethnicity, clothing, heritage, gender identification or none, queerness, sexual orientation or none, family background, culture, and language are all welcome here. No group should ever be singled out or be made to feel unwelcome, much less threatened or excluded. I welcome you to show up in the full expression of yourself. In order to consciously invite diversity into my practice, I welcome people from presently and historically marginalized groups to apply for sliding scale/scholarship slots. As I am a small, solo practice, I cannot offer as many of these slots as I'd like to, and so I apologize in advance if you inquire and such a slot is full. However, I am currently working to fund an additional slot. If you are a person with relative wealth and privilege, I hope you'll consider donating to this scholarship fund by making a donation with the button above. Once the donated amount reaches $3500, which is the cost for a year of therapy, I will make public notice of this available slot. I vow to fight injustice. |
In order to consciously and continuously invite additional diversity into my practice, I welcome people from presently and historically marginalized groups to apply for sliding scale/scholarship slots. As I am a small, solo practice, I cannot offer as many of these slots as I'd like to, and so I am currently working to fund an additional one. If you have a little extra, I hope you'll consider donating to this scholarship fund. I love how Toko-pa Turner has framed our offerings to one another this way as "a way of practicing Belonging, and what you might call, a “feminine economy,” because it redistributes muchness into places where there is lack, so that nobody is left behind" (you may find Toko-pa here). Once the donated amount reaches $3500, which is the cost for a year of weekly therapy, I will make public notice of this available slot. If after six months it has not reached that level, I will apply the amount to an existing sliding scale or pro bono slot. It is my intention to give preference for these slots to folks from marginalized groups, such as people of color, those who identify as non-binary, non-cis, trans, queer, indigenous, recent immigrant, those from marginalized religious groups, and survivors of human trafficking. |
