Thank you for not coming in with the flu
Please don’t come in if you have a contagious illness, such as the flu or a bad cold!
Here’s a list of flu symptoms.
Flu and cold pathogens are airborne and are transmittable through the air, so there's a high likelihood that if one person comes in with the flu, many people will then get ill. Some don’t have paid sick leave, so an illness like the flu can mean loss of income. Others may have compromised immune systems, chronically ill children or elders at home, or other situations that make a flu especially dangerous.
I realize cancelling inside the 24 hour window is a burden, so please know that we can have our session over the phone if you're sick.
Insurance, however, won’t pay for missed appointments or phone sessions. This puts those using insurance at a disadvantage, I realize. I wish there were a solution.
Probably the best thing to do is err on the side of caution and cancel as far in advance as possible, if avoiding paying the full rate is critical. This will require exercising those skills of paying attention to the body, and believing its signals.
Please know that if you do cancel and then find you’re not sick after all or that you’re better, you can always call and see if your slot is still open, and come on in if it is.
